Lean / Six Sigma / 5S Services

Lean Six Sigma combines the strategies of Lean and Six Sigma.

Lean principles help to enhance value while reducing process wastes. Based on the Toyota Production system, lean is a socio-technical system which focuses on enhancing customer value through gaining understanding of the current state through direct observation (gemba), and implementing solutions through experiments and leveraging the knowledge and creativity of the people that do the work.

Six Sigma focuses on reducing process variation and defects.  Developed at Motorola, and widely implemented at organizations like General Electric, Six Sigma uses the tools of Statistical Analysis and Total Quality Mangement with a rigorous phased approach (DMAIC) to identify and correct root causes of defects.

Together Lean and Six Sigma help to improve the efficiency and quality of the process.

5S is a system of workplace organization that can create an orderly,  self managing,  visual workplace.  The five phases (sort, set in order, shine, standardize, sustain) help teams to identify and eliminate time and value wasters in the workplace and replace them with a systematic approach to organization which helps to visually manage the work flow and help staff recognize abnormal situations.
